The Snuggle Is Real
Some mornings, getting out of bed feels like the real work. Today was one of those days. Hudson stretched out beside me, completely relaxed and unaware that his quiet presence makes it nearly impossible to start the day with any sense of urgency.
There’s something grounding about those early moments—the stillness, the warmth, the quiet space before emails and obligations show up. It’s a reminder that rest isn’t the opposite of productivity. It’s part of it.
As someone who writes about real-life experiences, I’ve learned that these soft starts matter. They help me show up with more clarity, more intention, and a little more patience for whatever the day decides to bring.
So yes, I eventually got up. But taking a few extra minutes under a warm blanket next to a very content golden retriever wasn’t wasted time. It was a small reset that made everything else feel a little more doable.
