As we all learn to settle into this unsettling time in America, every day feels heavy. With each news clip of a horror perpetrated by the orange felon and his band of evildoers and cowards, the very pressure in the air feels like it’s tightening like a vice grip. It feels like trying to move at speed underwater: a struggle. But I can feel other changes every day, too.
We all feel the pressure, especially when we stand in opposition to the chaos, unjust, and immoral acts of the convict’s administration. It can be relentless, exhausting—and at times—overwhelming. But in the face of adversity, there is also transformation. Just as immense pressure turns carbon into diamonds, the challenges we endure shape us into something stronger, more brilliant, and unbreakable.
Keep fighting. Keep calling/emailing. Keep donating to one of the worthy causes or candidates.
Lean on your people to help you keep your sanity.
Journal with abandon if you’re so inclined (as I am.) Extra credit: do it analog on paper. There is something so grounding about the experience.
Follow trusted content creators who show you our gains and wins. Remember, the news and social media are broken and geared toward a negative bias. But channels like Democracy Docket (on YouTube) and The Contrarian (here on Substack) keep us posted on lawsuits filed and won against this criminal administration.
Don’t be distracted by the egregious actions and inflammatory speech. Keep your eye on the prize of thwarting them legally where they stand.
They want to exhaust us. Take the time to refuel. There are plenty of us taking turns on watch.
We’re having an impact. And with every passing day, we are made more and more of the stuff of diamonds.
