When the Story Starts Writing You Back
Something has been stirring lately.
It started earlier this year when I organized the fundraiser in honor of Ken’s 60th birthday. What began as a simple idea—to celebrate the life he lived and the legacy he left—turned into something bigger. It reminded me of the power of story, of connection, of community. Watching people come together, laugh, cry, and remember Ken felt like opening a long-closed notebook and finding the pages still warm.
And somewhere between the planning, the emails, and the unexpected emotions, I realized something important: I wasn’t just honoring Ken’s story. I was re-entering my own.
That spark led me to create Twisted Plot Paper, a brand born out of my lifelong belief in the power of putting pen to paper. What started as a personal journaling practice to survive grief became a movement to help others do the same—to find themselves on the page, one word at a time. Each journal I’ve designed, each prompt I’ve written, has felt like another layer of healing, another step forward.
And then something unexpected happened again.
The act of helping others write helped me remember how much I love to write.
Not just the polished essays or the public posts—but the messy, vulnerable, late-night kind of writing. The kind that makes you feel alive. The kind that reminds you that stories don’t end; they just keep unfolding.
Lately, I’ve been riding that creative momentum—feeling the old joy come back, sharper and more grounded. The ideas are flowing again. The words are showing up. And for the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m not just telling stories. I’m living one.
There’s something big coming in 2026. I can’t share all the details just yet, but I’ll say this: it’s the story I’ve been waiting to tell—and maybe the one you’ve been waiting to read.
So stay tuned. Keep your pen handy. And join The Writing Life, Rewritten newsletter to be the first to know what’s coming down the pike. I’m excited to share it with you!
The next chapter is just getting started. Are you ready for yours?
